Group Leader Quantum System Engineering at Fraunhofer IAF. Expert on photovoltaics, solar thermal systems and defects in semiconductors.
Dr. Rebekka Eberle studied Technology of Renewable Energies in Weidenbach, Germany and Renewable Energy Engineering and Management in Freiburg, Germany. She was with Fraunhofer ISE from 2014 until 2020, first working as a student assistant before conducting her master thesis and transitioning to a PhD position. She received a PhD in Photovoltaic Energy Conversion studying temperature depedendent defects in silicon from the University of Freiburg in 2020. From 2020 to 2022 Rebekka was joining as a scientist the research group “sustainable building energy technology” of Freiburg University at the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering INATECH. She worked in the project network "LowEx-Bestand", where heat pump systems for the refurbishment of multifamily buildings were developed, analysed and demonstrated. Within the position she taught and examined in the Bachelor and Master courses “Sustainable Systems Engineering”.
Since 2022, Rebekka is with Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF in Freiburg, where she is leading the group Quantum System Engineering. She and her group develop integrated quantum systems for quantum computing and quantum sensing applications using NV centres in diamond.
