Entering the Fraunhofer Insitute for Solar Energy Systems(ISE) in 1993, Dr. Ralf Preu is director of the Division Photovoltaics with a focus on production technology. He studied physics at the Universities of Freiburg and Toronto and economy at the University of Hagen; he received his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the University of Hagen in 2000. He has been teaching photovoltaics at the University of Freiburg since 2008.  Dr. Ralf Preu received Innovation Award in Laser Technology in 2014 and Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize in 2016 for Laser Fired Contact Technology for the Production of Highly Efficient Silicon Solar Cells.
