Research group leader at the Chair of Solar Energy Systems (Prof. Hans-Martin Henning), Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH), University of Freiburg

Dr. Andreas Velte began his studies in Mechanical Engineering at DHBW Karlsruhe, in cooperation with Kieninger GmbH. He then pursued a second Bachelor’s degree in Energy and Process Technology at the Technical University of Munich. His bachelore thesis was at the Chair of Thermodynamics. Followed by a Master’s degree in the same field at the Technical University of Munich, where he completed his Master’s thesis at Linde Engineering in Research and Development.

From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Velte completed his PhD at the University of Freiburg on “Experimental Work and Development of Numerical Models for the Analysis and Optimization of Advanced Adsorption Cycles for the Heat Supply of Buildings,” under the supervision of Prof. Hans-Martin Henning.

Since 2013, Dr. Velte has held a 50% research associate position at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE). In February 2024, he became the research group leader at the Chair of Solar Energy Systems within the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH) at the University of Freiburg.
