Welcome to the new academic year! We are thrilled to be partnering with you in your exciting educational journey. We will surely grow together by learning, exploring, and engaging. Also, this year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary as a fully online study program - a first in the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg. Founded in 1457, University of Freiburg is one of the oldest universities in Germany. We are proud to have 10 Nobel Prize laureates who have researched and taught here. As a teaching and research institution, the University is in the top 10 % of German universities (QS World University Rankings 2019; Times Higher Education - World University Rankings 2019). Internationally, it is 83rd (previous year 86th), and nationwide it ranks fifth among comprehensive universities, according to the 2020/21 “Times Higher Education World University Ranking”.
