Yasmine Zaeria has joined the SEE team in March 2023 as a Public Relations Manager. She did her Master's in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Freiburg.
After completing my education as a mechanical engineer and working for a while, I decided to continue my education after a long gap. And I found that this online Solar Energy Engineering program perfectly meets my requirements to switch to a field which has a promising future.
Khadija got her MSc degree in Solar Energy Engineering from the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2020. Her BSc was in Renewable Energy Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt. She is very passionate about solar energy and dreams of a world that is 100% renewable.

Luis holds a degree in Physics from the University of Granada and a Master degree in Solar Energy Engineering from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität of Freiburg, where he spent three years working at the Department of New Solar Cell Concepts at the Fraunhofer Institute. Currently, he lives in Seville and focuses his work on the development of Machine Learning models to optimize the O&M of utility-scale PV plants. Luis is passionate about technology, learning new languages and playing almost any kind of sport.
Algerian origin currently living in the Netherlands, with more than 15 years’ experience in different facets of gas and LNG process engineering design, process safety and Asset Support. My ambition is to contribute in making the planet a fair place to live in, where clean and affordable energy would be accessible to everyone, both rich and poor.
Merve is a student assistant at the Solar Energy Engineering department. She is an M.A student at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg in British and North American Cultural Studies department. She believes science combined with the humanities is a promising way to communicate scientific discoveries to a broader audience. She creates content for the department blog and feels lucky to be a part of the creative thinking process that takes place behind the scenes. Her research interests lie in environmental humanities, climate change literature and ecofeminism.
An electrical engineer specialized in Photovoltaic Systems EPC business model, finished bachelor degree at the Hashemite University in Jordan, currently enrolled in the program Solar Energy Engineering & doing Master Thesis at The University of Freiburg. Nowadays works as a technical manager in the solar business at ELETECH Co. Ltd. in Amman, Jordan.
Eve has a purely Photovoltaic background. Since 2011 she works in the PV industry. She studied Solar Technology at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and finished her Solar Energy Engineering Master at Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg in May 2018. Eve currently works as Process Specialist in the field of Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells Manufacturing and Optimization; besides she is working on her PhD at the Fraunhofer-Centre for Silicon Photovoltaics and Martin-Luther-University in Halle, Germany.
Mohammadreza Aghaei received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2016. He has researched on Photovoltaics in various leading research institutes and universities like University of Freiburg, Fraunhofer ISE, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Mohammadreza is a multicultural person since he has lived in five countries and interact with people from different nations. He likes nature, adventure, movies and football, table tennis.
Monica Oliphant, is an inspiring pioneer in the Solar Energy Industry. With more than 40 years experience in the Energy Industry, she is also a mother, a Professor at three different Australian Universities and ex-President of the International Solar Energy Society, has earned several awards in the renewable energy field. Today Monica runs her own consultancy and relentlessly works with local governments in energy efficiency.
